2004: United Nations Asian Development Bank: Implementing eGovernment

From 2004.

This is the Report of the Regional Workshop on Implementing eGovernment, facilitated by the United Nations-Asian Development Bank.

I presented to this international meeting on the successful implementation of cross-jurisdiction e-government – Business Entry Point Case Study.

In my presentation, I cautioned against over reliance on portals - a theme I still emphasise today.

Also a consistent them is designing and co-designing with the experience of the business.

I repeat a statement made by a small business operator in a co-design session:

“Businesses did not go online for the pleasure of doing business with government - they would only do so if there was a clear value proposition and it was simple and easy.”

Presenter and commentator: Marie Johnson.
