2020: “Postcards from Tomorrow”. This book is a collection of 270 letters from women, from all walks of life, to their 21-year-old-selves. All proceeds from the sale of the book are for Lou’s Place, Sydney’s only daytime drop-in centre for female victims of domestic violence. I wrote a letter for this collection. Published 6 March 2020.

In Authentic Inclusion(TM) Drives Disruptive Innovation, thought leader, speaker, strategy advisor, and women-in-technology trailblazer Frances West proposes new ways that business leaders can affect sustainable and scalable change--and tap into tremendous opportunities--by viewing inclusion as strategic and by addressing diversity proactively. The “Nadia” project was recognised and discussed in detail in this book. Published December 2018.
2018: “Digital humans” in government’s Transformation Strategy a Welcome World First”. Author Marie Johnson. This move establishes a new benchmark globally. For many years, I have been publicly advocating for this, and I know personally how inherently liberating this capability is to a great many people. I am pleased with the Government’s recognition of the role that digital humans will play in service delivery. Published in CIO Magazine. November 2018.

Really pleased to see The Mandarin picking up the discussion on AI-powered digital humans and servicing models that bring back the human dimension. 2018: “Why Artificial Intelligence is a Human Right.” Author Marie Johnson. 2018 is a monumental year regarding human rights; it’s the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a remarkable document to be read in conjunction with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. 2018 also marks the Convention’s 10th anniversary. As the artificial intelligence (AI) era inexorably unfolds across every dimension of our life, the principles enshrined in these two human rights documents can steer this great innovation in a direction that will benefit all humanity. 2018: Chapter 48 “Digital Humans in Healthcare” in the book “Augmented Health(care)TM: “the end of the beginning” by Dr Lucien Engelen. Can you imagine a world in which Digital Humans play the role of cardiac coach? Lucien Engelen is the founding director of the REshape Center for (healthcare) innovation (since 2010) at Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen The Netherlands. As of May 2018, he was appointed as Global Strategist Digital Health Edge Fellow at the Deloitte Center for the Edge. He is also core faculty at Singularity University’s Exponential Medicine in Silicon Valley (since 2011) and CEO of his own company called Transform, an expert in front-end healthcare innovation and a passioned and valued inspirational public speaker on the change of health(care). In the late 1980’s, Allan Johnson — an RAAF aeronautical engineer, was doing research into expert systems, the forerunner of artificial intelligence. 2014: Digital Disruption – an Interview with Marie Johnson. Author Craig Thomler. Marie says that digital has been truly disruptive to society and is one of the most serious challenges to government administration in a century. She believes there’s two forms of disruption, unpredictable and predictable. The unpredictable kind includes real breakthroughs in technology and new and unique emerging business models that no foresight could have predicted. The predictable kind result from a series of incremental changes over a relatively long time – a ‘long tail’ of disruption based on the evolution of known technologies and business models. The purpose of this discussion paper was to invite comment from industry on innovative ways of delivering government payments and collecting and sharing required information such as customer income details. Each year the Australian Government delivers more than $100 billion in payments through the Human Services Portfolio. This discussion paper was a dialogue with the finance, retail and ICT industries, peak bodies and academia on better ways of providing payment and information services and how we move to the next generation of service delivery and customer engagement. A journalistic article I wrote predicting and examining the impact of information brokers on the financial services sector.
